How it works
See what changes
Amber marks the small part that carries the change.
Past endings travel from verb to verb
The same person endings you saw with di'' attach to new verbs: -t for I and -et for she. The vowel can adjust, but the job of the ending stays the same.
he → she
he put
she put
She adds -et to the stable geminate stem.
Present prefixes still name the person
With 'eʿed, the stem vowel changes in the present, but the front markers remain familiar: b- for I and bye- for he.
I → he
I sit
he sits
The b-prefix grows to bye- for he.
raḥ opens a future sentence
Put raḥ before the verb and remove the habitual b-. The person marker remains on the verb when it needs one: raḥ ḥoṭṭ, raḥ tḥoṭṭ, raḥ yḥoṭṭ.
usually → later
I put
I will put
raḥ replaces the everyday b-prefix.
The adjective follows the noun's gender
A feminine singular noun usually takes the feminine adjective ending -e: khzeene kbiire.
masculine → feminine
big (m)
big (f)
The -e ending makes the adjective agree with a feminine noun.
