How it works
See what changes
Amber marks the small part that carries the change.
Attach the person directly to the verb
Add a short ending to show who receives the action: -ni for me, -ak for you masculine, -ik for you feminine, -kon for you plural, and -on for them.
no object → you masculine
I hear
I hear you (m)
The verb stays whole and -ak names the person heard.
Change the ending when the other person changes
The attached ending carries the target. In diʾʾiili, -li means to me. In mnshuufon, -on means them.
you masculine → them
we see you (m)
we see them
Swap -ak for -on without adding a separate pronoun.
call → call me
call (to a woman)
call me (to a woman)
The attached -li marks the person who should receive the call.
